Where we are now |
Kylie Wheatley comes from a Hospitality background. After completing a traineeship with the Sheraton Hotel group in Brisbane and Perth Kylie worked for Frasers Restaurant, Cable Beach Club, Chianti on Collins, Indiana Teahouse, Sheraton Vancouver, to name a few, working primarily in Fine Dining, Functions and Events. After many years running market stalls as a side hobby, including food, jewellery, and clothing Kylie launched the Village Art Markets in the centre of Fremantle. The market was a hub for the whole community and White Ribbon Day, Harmony Day , International Women's Day, and many other events where held within the market. Kylie created a Tomato Festival to celebrate the Italian, Portuguese and Croatian heritage in Fremantle. Lonely Planet TV used the market as their backdrop to visiting Fremantle and Kylie became their guide for Fremantle as featured on 6 Degree's travel series. The arrival of Blues and Roots Festival to Fremantle saw Kylie leap into the WA Festival and Event scene and she began to provide markets, food markets and back stage decor to WA Music Festivals and Events.
